Close to Spain…the way to Donostia was not to far that we decided to hitchhike again. Our host brought us to a petrol station on the highway. The weather was shit but within 5 minutes somebody from Bayonne picked us up. With the window down and cigarette on we were cruising down the highway. He spoke a little bit of spanish that we communicated in spanish…a bit 

Behind Bayonne he left us at a roundabout and there it was not a problem to find somebody else. A young french guy took us directly to Donostia through a beautiful landscape. He was on the way to León to walk the Way of Santiago.
 
Das Wetter in Donostia war sehr typisch für das Baskenland, ein mega Schweif aus Regenstaub zog über die Stadt. Wir machten uns auf den Weg zu unserem Freund Thomas. Da wir verdammt gut durchgekommen sind, gingen wir erst mal wieder günstiger einkaufen und machten eine verdammt leckere Tortilla <3 Auf gut deutsch ist es so ähnlich wie ein Bauernfrühstück.
The weather was typical rainy for the baskland. We were on the way to our friend Thomas. Because we have made it in a short time to Donostia we bought some more inexpensive groceries and prepared a yummy Tortilla for lunch.

Am Abend zogen wir schon mal durch die Stadt und lernten Pintxo Pote kennen. Sämtliche Restaurants und Speiselokale stellen dazu kleine Häppchen bereit, die man zusammen mit einem Getränk für 2-2.50 an einem Dienstag/Donnerstag erwerben kann. An den restlichen Tagen dann eben ohne Getränk ^^.
In the evening we went out to catch some Pintxo Pote. Restaurants are providing these specialities mostly in combination with a drink for 2-2.50 € on a Tuesday/Thursday. During the other days without a drink ^^.

Die Altstadt sowie die Gegend nahe der Strände sind nicht alt zu weitläufig sodass man schnell einen guten Überblick bekommt.
Das Baskenland hat wie viele Regionen in Spanien neben Spanisch ihre eigene lokale Sprache. Diese hat keine bzw. nur geringe Ähnlichkeiten mit einer anderen Sprache. Geringfügig gibt es Worte, bei denen man erraten kann, was diese bedeuten.
Viele Schilder sind somit zweisprachig beschrieben, wobei die spanische Übersetzung darunter steht.
Donostia ist dabei die baskische Beschreibung für San Sebastián.

Wir nutzten die Tage in Donosti, um mal wieder ein wenig anzukommen. Ich befasste mich weiter mit Spanisch und zog auf eigene Faust durch die Stadt und besuchte die Altstadt sowie den Berg Urgull.

Jeden Abend waren wir unterwegs und besuchten mindestens 2 mal die Tanzbar Ondarra, in der so gut wie an jedem Abend jene Art von spanischer Livemusik gespielt wird. Ab dem zweiten Abend ließen sich bereits die Touris von den Locals unterscheiden. So halbwegs. Man kann auch hin und wieder in Donosti wohnende Deutsche antreffen.
Donnerstagabend feierten wir in Caros Geburtstag, mit ein paar Leuten von den Tagen zuvor, rein.
An einem anderen Abend versuchten wir es auch in den „gewöhnlichen“ Clubs, einige waren sogar kostenlos und einer wollte ernsthaft um ca. 3 Uhr morgens noch 15 Euro haben…so ein Schuppen ganz dicht am Wasser gebaut. Der Türsteher hat sich nach Nennung des Preises ganz cool weggedreht, als er merkte wie fit wir noch sind und lachten ihn einfach nur aus…

On Thursday evening we celebrated into the birthday of Caro with some people we got to know the days before. 
At another evening we went to usual clubs, some were free entrance, but one wanted us to pay 15 bugs at 3 AM, we just laughed at him…they often try to cheat on you. This club is located very close to the ocean.  
Am Wochenende legten in einer Art Jugendhaus zwei DJs auf, die relativ entspannte Beats spielten. Die Bar schenkte Calimocho (Kalte Muschi) aus. Den Drink merkt man unter Umständen am nächsten Tag noch. Die Party ging nur so bis um 5 AM sodass wir noch weiter zogen. In Donosti gibt es nicht so viele Möglichkeiten, um ein wenig tanzen zu gehen (wonach wir so suchen). Im zweiten Club konzentrierte sich dann alles Volk. Um 6 AM war dann aber komplett Feierabend ^^.
At the weekend we went to a youth club where two DJs were playing soft beats. You could get Calimocho there which you still might feel the day after. The music switched off at 5 AM and we headed over to another one. At 6 AM the music was over. Donostia has less possibilities to find some music to dance to that we like. 
Ich meine, ich habe auch Bonsais und habe mir auch Gedanken über den Topf gemacht, aber auf diese Idee bin selbst ich nicht gekommen…Nutella, der ultimative Nährstoffboden.
