Bom Dia Lissabon

(231017) Nazaré -> Lisbon

Die Landschaften zwischen Porto und Lissabon haben wir entdeckt und es ist Zeit fuer Lissabon. Wir haben den sicheren Bus von Nazare nach Valado genommen. Der Fahrer haette Rennfahrer werden sollen, da er wie bekloppt um die Kurven gefahren ist.
Am Bahnhof konnten wir dann erstmal unser Zelt und Co. aufhaengen und ausmuchten lassen. 

The train had a delay of about 20 minutes and this was our shuttle. Our roller coaster. We thought every moment that the train will go off the rails.

Der Zug kam 20 Minuten zu spaet und das war dann im Endeffekt unser Shuttle. Wir dachten jeden Moment, dass das Ding entgleist.

Soon or later we arrived in Lisbon Santa Apolonia and it was hot. The weather was just great. The week in Lisbon we stayed at the Seven Hills Hostel near Anjos metro station. Very cheap but you’ll get a lot in return. It was a very clean and very good equipped hostel. We did not know where is the best location to stay but finally we were around 30 minutes far from everything by foot what we visited in the following days. That was okay.

Frueher oder spaeter sind wir endlich in Lissabon angekommen und das Wetter war einfach nur wieder wunderbar. Die Woche in Lissabon blieben wir im Seven Hills Hostel nahe der Metro Anjos. Es war sehr preiswert und dennoch war die Ausstattung genial und jeden Tag wurde sauber gemacht. Wir wussten vorher nicht genau, wo die beste Gegend sein wird, aber letztendlich war das Hostel immer so 30 Minuten zu Fuss entfernt von jeden Punkten, die wir so besucht haben. .

On the first day we wanted to try one of these ‚Free Walking Tours‘. The main meeting point of this was the main square called ‚Rossio Square‘ and it started at 3 PM. Usually the duration is around 3h but we walked until the sunset which we could see from the view point ‚Santa Catarina‘. Through the tour we found out about the main area of Lisbon which was very useful for the rest of the week.

Am ersten Tag wollten wir mal eines dieser Free Walking Tours mitmachen. Der Haupttreffpunkt dazu war am Rossio Square, der Hauptplatz und es ging um 3 PM los. Normalerweise dauert die Tour 3h, doch wir haben bis zum Sonnenuntergang benoetigt, den wir dann vom Santa Catarina Aussichtspunkt sehen konnten. Durch die Tour haben wir wichtige Ecken von Lissabon kennengelernt, was in der restlichen Woche noch nuetzlich war. 

Following this we went to the close area of where you can find lots of bars often with live music. There was a couchsurfing meeting and it was much fun. People from around the world met. Australia, New Zealand, USA, Ukraine and Portugal. We had talks together and danced in different clubs with no admission fee.

Nach der Tour gingen wir noch zu einem Couchsurfing Meeting in einer Bar mit Livemusik. Es war richtig unterhaltsam und witzig. Leute aus aller Welt waren dort, wie zum Beispiel Australien, Neuseeland, USA, Ukraine und Portugal. Spaeter ging es noch in andere Tanzbars, die keinen Eintritt verlangten.

In the rest of the days, we explored the city by ourself and I will take you back into my memories.

An den anderen Tagen erkundeten wir die Stadt wieder auf eigene Faust und ich nehme euch mit in meine Erinnerungen.

Sometimes we use small roads that seem less touristic. By doing this we found a very interesting place by a local artist named Julio. He is in use of a lost place, not sure if he owns that place, which he converted in a big playground to do some art. Have a look.

Manchmal gehen wir irgendwelche kleinen Gassen, die nicht so voller Touris sind. Dadurch haben wir einen interessanten Platz von einem lokalen Kuenstler names Julio entdeckt. Er verwendet diesen Platz, keine Ahnung ob er ihm auch gehoert, und hat daraus ein grosses Kunstobjekt gemacht. Seht selbst.

The actual destination was the ‚Castle of São Jorge‘ but we did not enter because the admission fee for the whole castle was 8 Euro. Unfortunately the view point we wanted to visit was only accessible by purchasing the ticket.
But the alternative view point was much better… ‚Nossa Senhora do Monte‘. Watch this….the sunrays beamed into our eyes directly.

Eigentlich wollten wir zum Schloss Sao Jorge, aber der Eintritt war 8 Euro. Leider war der Aussichtspunkt zu dem wir wollten nur mit dem Ticket zugaenglich. Der alternative Aussichtspunkt war dann eh viel schoener…Nossa Senhora do Monte. Schaut selbst…die Sonnenstrahlen haben direkt in die Augen geschienen, weshalb die Fotos so ueberbelichtet sind. 

One late afternoon we had a ride with the historic train 28 that drives along a lot of attractions which are worth to see. We walked to the start at ‚Campo de Ourique (Prazares)‘ because it is almost impossible to enter in the middle of the route, in areas with lots of tourists.

An einem spaeten Nachmittag sind wir mit der historischen Strassenbahn Linie 28 gefahren. Sie faehrt an saemtlichen Sehenswuerdigkeiten vorbei. Wir sind zu einem Startpunkt, Campo de Ourique (Prazares), der Linie gelaufen, da man zwischendurch auf der Linie meist keinen guten Platz in der Bahn bekommt. Zu viele Touristen.

On the last day, Sunday, we booked a ride to Faro, next destination, for 9 PM to have some time during the day. A place the I absolutely recommend to visit is Sintra. It is a city 40 minutes far from Lisbon by train. To get there you must take the train from Rossio Square, I mentioned above. A roundtrip is about 5 Euro including the card you will receive. You also can go by car but it is not recommendable in reason of less space to park in the region of Sintra.
We walked around the city and visited the ‚Castle of the Moors‘ and the most western part of Europe, ‚Cabo da Roca‘. The general admission fee for the castle is 7.50 Euro. I think there is a ‚Sintra Pass‘ for all the castles around Sintra that makes it cheaper if you want to visit everything. But keep in mind, one day is not enough if you do so.

Am letzte Tag, Sonntag, haben wir eine Fahrt nach Faro, naechstes Ziel, fuer um 9 PM gebucht sodass wir tagsueber noch was machen konnten. Eine Stadt, die ich fuer jeden Lissabonaufenthalt empfehlen kann, ist Sintra. Sie liegt 40 Minuten mit dem Zug von Lissabon entfernt. Hin und zurueck vom Rossio Square kosten 5 Euro inklusive der Karte die man erhaelt. Man kann auch mit dem Auto fahren, allerdings sind die Parkmoeglichkeiten moderat.
Wir sind ein wenig durch die Stadt gelaufen und besuchten das Schloss des Moors und den westlichsten Punkt von Europa, Cabo da Roca. Der Eintritt fuer das Schloss war 7.50 Euro. Ich glaube es gibt eine Art Sintra Pass mit dem man dann alle Schloesser besichtigen kann. Aber dafuer sollte man dann laenger bleiben, zwei Tage mindestens. 

To get to Cabo da Roca you can take the bus from the main station of Sintra. Roundtrip is about 8.30 Euro.

Um nach Cabo da Roca zu gelangen kann man den Bus vom Hauptbahnhof in Sintra nehmen. Hin und zurueck kosten dabei 8.30 Euro. Aber schauen wir uns an, wie es dort so aussieht. 

The week in Lisbon was really cool and very relaxing after staying outside in Nazare. You appreciate a bed first, if you do not have one. I can remeber the first night in a bed again, I was just smiling. In addition we had so much luck with the weather because the temperatures in october 2018 are not usual.
Because of the great and cheap food in local vegetables supermarkets, we often cook great meals.

Die Woche in Lissabon war echt cool und entspannt, nachdem wir draussen gecampt haben in Nazare. Man lernt ein Bett erst zu schaetzen, wenn man keins hat. Ich erinnere mich zu gerne an die erste Nacht, da ich nur gegrinst habe. Ausserdem haben wir echt Glueck mit dem Wetter, da solch Temperaturen von 25 Grad nicht gewoehnlich sind fuer den Oktober. Da es super guenstiges und frisches Gemuese an jeder Ecke gab, haben wir oft selbst gekocht.
